Trichy:A job aspirant was booked for vandalizing the office of a travel agent over money transactions here on Monday.
The KK Nagar police registered a case against Boomi Kannan on charges of verbally abusing travel agent M Saleem Batcha, 43, of JK Nagar in Khajamalai, causing harm to him with weapons and threatening him with dire consequences.
According to Saleem’s complaint, he is running a travel agency to arrange jobs abroad for aspirants. Kannan approached Saleem to get him a job in Brunei. He paid 1.95 lakh via UPI to Saleem for the visa and other processes. Since the agent in Brunei died, Saleem was unable to process Kanna’s application. So, Saleem returned 1.65 lakh to Kannan via UPI.
As Saleem delayed the repayment of the balance amount, Kannan barged into the travel agent’s office at Rani Annadurai Street on Monday afternoon. He picked up a quarrell with Saleem and attacked him with a knife. Saleem sustained injuries on his both hands. Kannan fled the scene after attacking Saleem. Police are searching for Kannan.TNN
