Medanbisnisdaily.com – Medan. The Indonesian Travel Agent Association (Astindo) is again holding the 2024 Astindo Travel Fair (ATF), at Deli Park Mall Medan, 29 February-3 March 2024.

At the 2024 Astindo Travel Fair, various foreign and domestic travel package promos were offered.

Chairman of the North Sumatra Astindo DPD, Wilson Halim, the Astindo Travel Fair, which was first held nationally in 2011, has a positioning as one of the largest and most comprehensive travel fairs in Indonesia.

Wilson Halim even said that the Astindo Travel Fair is also a reference for economical holidays for the public, both for domestic and international destinations because it is supported by multi airlines.

“Meanwhile, Astindo DPD North Sumatra ATF in Medan will be held in 2023, then, in one of the malls in Medan City. Hopefully the travel fair can be held every year,” said Wilson in a meeting session at the Laguna Atrium Deli Park, Thursday (29/ 02/2024).

For 2024, the Astindo Travel Fair will be held simultaneously in 5 major cities, namely Medan, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bali and Palembang.

“A series of events are also designed to enliven ATF, with cashback offers from BCA partners of IDR 670 thousand for BCA credit card holders and providing lucky dip programs, Cruise auctions and lucky draw flight tickets,” said Wilson.

Wilson said that the Astindo Travel Fair would have an economic impact and increase turnover for Astindo partners and tourism business actors. The transactions at the 2024 Astindo Travel Fair are targeted to reach IDR 10 billion.

“Meanwhile, the favorite destination for ATF visitors is Malaysia. Because the distance is close, the costs are cheap. So the cost of the trip is very cheap,” explained Wilson.

Wilson explained for domestic tourism travel, in Indonesia. Bali is a favorite tourist destination. “Then, followed by Komodo Island, in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province and the super priority tourism destination Lake Toba,” he said.

In this Astindo Travel Fair activity, 20 Indonesian airlines from a number of countries and 17 travel agents, who are members of the North Sumatra Astindo DPD, participated.

The opening of ATF 2024, which took place at Deli Park, Medan City, was attended by the Chair of the 2024 Astindo Travel Fair Medan Committee, Ito Tenno Mulya, Chair of the North Sumatra Astindo DPD Advisory Board, Willy Sihombing, and Tourism Malaysia’s Young Traveler Consul, Yus Nita Yusuf.
