Tragic! Travel Vlogger Couple Robbed in India, Wife Raped

This vlogger couple from Spain who were traveling around the world experienced a tragic fate. While stopping in India, they were robbed and the wife was raped.

Reporting from Euronews, Monday (4/3/2024) the incident occurred on March 1-2 in Dumka District in the state of Jharkhand, India. The area is a popular tourist destination.

The husband and wife traveled around the world by motorbike. This time, they planned to go to Nepal via Bhagalpur.

They stopped at Dumka. Based on information, the couple set up a tent in a remote place near Hansdiha Market.

While they were asleep, several young men entered the tent and attacked them. Not only that, these young men also raped the wife in turn.

After the attack, the female tourist was helpless. He was treated at the Saraiyahat Community Health Center.

Later, he was shifted to Phulo Jhano Medical College Hospital in Dumka.

“This is a condemnable incident and the police are taking appropriate action. The culprit will not go unpunished,” said Mithilesh Kumar Thakur, regional minister of Jhajhand state.

In news.com.au, the couple identified as Vicente and Fernanda have traveled to 66 countries since leaving Barcelona five years ago. They described the tragic incident on their Instagram account last Friday night.

“Something happened to us, something we wouldn’t wish on anyone. Seven men raped me. They beat and robbed us. They didn’t take much, because what they wanted was to rape me,” reads the caption on one of the videos.

“We are at the hospital with the police, it happened tonight here in India,” he added.

There were visible bruises and swelling on his face. Likewise with her husband’s face.

Vicente explained that they had been taken to the Saraiyahat Community Health Center so Fernanda could have evidence of rape made.

“They beat us. They put a knife to my neck and told me they were going to kill me. Fernanda was raped. Seven of them. Seven men. Bastards,” he said.

In another post, his teeth are broken and his lips are swollen. He said he was hit in the head several times with a helmet and his mouth was smashed.

Police officer Pitamber Singh Kherwar told The Times of India newspaper that the woman managed to reach a police patrol car around 11pm and was taken to hospital for treatment..
